WELCOME TO WALES
OUR STORY
Cascave Gin begins with water.
Not water from a tap, or a tank, or a treatment works. Water that starts as rain on the wild hills of the Brecon Beacons, moving slowly downward through meadowsweet and bilberry, carving its way through the darkest crevices of Wales, through her caves, tunnels and ancient rock, picking up the minerals of the landscape as it goes. By the time we collect it, deep within the Dan yr Ogof cave system, it carries something of this place in every drop.
Our name comes from that journey. Cascave. Water cascading down through the cave. It felt like the only name that made sense.
That journey is what Cascave is built on. The water. The landscape. The stories held within both.
MEET OUR FOUNDERS
We are a mother and two daughters, based on our farm in Crai, Powys, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Cascave was born over a gin and tonic, as the best ideas often are, out of a shared love for this landscape and a conviction that it deserved to be in a bottle. Every gin we make begins and ends here.
OUR GINS
Premium Dry Gin is our foundation. Distilled using the London Dry method, it brings together botanicals native to the hills around our farm, chosen to complement the minerality of the cave water at its heart. Fresh, citrus-forward and quietly complex, it is a gin that tastes unmistakably of where it comes from.
Cave Aged Gin is where our story goes underground. Our Premium Dry Gin is carried by hand into the Angel Passageway deep within Dan yr Ogof, where it rests in port-seasoned oak barrels for 180 days at a steady 10°C. The cave does the rest. What emerges is something smooth, amber and unhurried, shaped by the patience the process demands. We believe it is the first gin to be cask-aged in a cave, and the Great Taste Awards described it simply as one with real character and a pleasing twist. We would not argue with that.
Stormy Gin was inspired by Welsh weather at its most alive. Anyone who has stood on these hills and watched a storm roll in from the west will understand what we mean. The sky changes fast. The air shifts. The landscape becomes something wilder altogether. Stormy Gin captures that feeling, balancing bright citrus from orange, lemon and grapefruit against the deeper warmth of pink peppercorn, liquorice root and wild sunflower root. Craft Gin Club chose it as their Gin of the Month in January 2024, and the World Gin Awards noted its silky elegance and clean, creamy citrus. Bold and beautiful, much like the weather that inspired it.
All three gins are distilled with mineral-rich water hand-collected from the Dan yr Ogof caves. All three are made in small batches on our farm. And all three, in their own way, tell the same story.
This landscape. This water. This family.
That is Cascave.

None of this would be possible without the Price family at the National Showcaves Centre for Wales, who have supported Cascave from the very beginning and welcomed our gin into the heart of their remarkable cave system at Dan yr Ogof. We are enormously grateful for their generosity and proud to work alongside them. The National Showcaves Centre is one of Wales' most extraordinary natural attractions, and well worth a visit in its own right. You might even spot our barrels while you are there.
